A Great British Staycation

There comes a time in life where we all start to get a little itchy. For most people, it’s when you’ve not had a break in quite some time. But it could also be during the time of the year where holiday season is officially over and winter sets in. So, around about now. And it’s awful. You can just feel so stuck and down – because the weather is awful and you just want to escape. But you have work and winter sun might be out of the question, so what are you to do? Well, instead of wishing that you can jet off to a warmer climate that you know is probably out of budget right before Christmas, you’re going to want to think about taking a bit of a mini break instead.

Enter the great British staycation! Here, you can think about getting away from the world for a little while. But with a staycation, you get to stay locally, enjoy some relaxation, and explore somewhere a little closer to home. So let’s take a look at some ideas for you here.

City Escape

First of all, you’ve got the idea of jetting off for a city break. This could be exactly what you need to feel like you’re having a bit of a holiday. Stay over, enjoy great restaurants, and explore some of the sights, just as you would on another other kind of break.

Spa Weekend

Always a winner, there’s also the idea of finding yourself at a spa for the weekend. Or even as a midweek treat! Spa retreats are a great way to relax and unwind, without having to leave the country – or even your own town, if that’s how you want things. Take a look at the different spas in your area, or even something a little further afield if you want to feel like you’ve gotten away for a while.

Countryside Retreat

Then, from here, you might want to think about really getting away from the world by landing yourself right in the middle of the countryside! You may even want to go coastal. Here, you could find a cottage to rent near Weymouth or a part of the country you’ve never been too. You could lock yourself away from the world and just enjoy some quality time. And this should leave you feeling refreshed.

Lakeside Stay

If you want complete seclusion, maybe you want to head off to a remote lakeside location and stay in a cabin? Peace, quiet, and your own company will be absolutely perfect for you here.

Luxury Staycation

Or maybe you’re not too sure where you want to go, but you know that you want a little slice of luxury? Here, you might want to take a look at some of the most luxurious hotel brands the country has to offer and just see what they can offer. If you want to dine in style, stay in style, and explore wherever you end up, then here’s is where you should invest for a night or two away.

How would you choose to spend your staycation in the UK?

While I’m normally a day out kinda gal I’d love to try out a staycation like this, visit a city I’ve not been to before or visit somewhere like the Lake District. Great post full of staycation ideas. x

I’m a huge staycation addict! I’ve probably stayed at a dozen properties around my neighbourhood and enjoy it!
