I received a twitter notification from the awesome Imogen (@imogen_chloe27) who had nominated me for the ‘Blogger Recognition Award’ this was such a happy moment for me because I’ve had a very busy couple of months updating my blog site, creating new content and balancing a busy work and social life.
I am extremely grateful for this recognition so thank you so much Imogen for the support you continue to shower me with. I’ve learnt a lot from you not only about blogging but for personal reasons and our chats mean a lot to me. To have your recognition for my writing means a lot.
How ‘Elle Goes Global’ started
Like many bloggers ‘Elle Goes Global’ wasn’t my first experience of blogging back in 2012 I had a site called ‘A lifetime of adventure’ which I wrote this blog with my ex-boyfriend for a year. Then sadly my University studies intensified and I went through a very messy break up so my blog took a back seat. The thing we had enjoyed together as a couple now had quite a bitter taste for me, so I decided to step right back and focus on letting myself heal and throwing myself into my professional training year. Then in 2016 fuelled by my passion for travel and writing I started blogging again under ‘Grad Goes Global’ which ran for six months before balancing my 9-5 job and long commute with the dedication blogging deserves well it all became too much. All of this makes me seem like a quitter when in reality I’m not other things in life just seemed to take over.
Then in March 2018 I was encouraged by my boyfriend and my parents (who you’ll read a lot about in this blog) to revive my blogging passion and hence ‘Elle Goes Global’ was born. To bring happiness to people, inspire and provide tips and advice for food, travel and lifestyle. Combining my two passions together into one hobby has been incredible and I recently went self hosted as well – it’s safe to say ‘Elle Goes Global’ is here to stay and I’m excited for the future.
Advice for new bloggers
Don’t be afraid to take a break – Sometimes life gets manic whether it be the demands of work, university or personal reasons. It can be quite overwhelming at times but never be afraid to take time away for yourself and regather your thoughts. You should blog because you want to not because you have to.
Ask for help – It can be quite overwhelming sometimes so why struggle when there is a whole community of bloggers on hand to help support you and give advice.
For my nominees, there are a couple of rules that go with this award please check them out below;
